Chelsea<\/a> owner Roman Abramovich will not allow midfielder Michael Essien<\/a> to join Real Madrid<\/a>, according to The Sun<\/em>.<\/p>\n

Former Blues boss Jose Mourinho is believed to be an admirer of the Ghana international, who he signed for the London club in 2005.<\/p>\n

Essien has four years left on his \u00a3110,000-a-week contract at Stamford Bridge, but has been linked with a move away from the club this summer.<\/p>\n

But Abramovich is adamant the player will not leave, with a top source at the club saying: “Abramovich is not going to sell.”<\/span><\/p>\n

Mourinho feels that Essien can strengthen his midfield and help his Real Madrid side catch Barcelona in La Liga.<\/span><\/p>\n

Although Essien has spent long spells on the sidelines in recent seasons due to injury, he is still seen as integral to the long-term plans at Stamford Bridge.<\/span><\/p>\n
