{"id":449616,"date":"2011-06-28T21:28:17","date_gmt":"2011-06-28T21:28:17","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.ghanamma.net\/2011\/06\/28\/adom-fm-presents-6500-euros-check-to-hole-in-heart-patient\/"},"modified":"2011-06-28T21:28:17","modified_gmt":"2011-06-28T21:28:17","slug":"adom-fm-presents-6500-euros-check-to-hole-in-heart-patient","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2011\/06\/28\/adom-fm-presents-6500-euros-check-to-hole-in-heart-patient\/","title":{"rendered":"Adom FM presents 6,500 Euros check to hole-in-heart patient"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"caption\" src=\"http:\/\/www.ghanamma.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/06\/8d3ca038020x20281.jpg.jpg\" border=\"0\" alt=\"Human Resource Manager of Adom FM, George Imbeah presenting the check to Mrs Rosemond Ankrah Mensah\" title=\"Human Resource Manager of Adom FM, George Imbeah presenting the check to Mrs Rosemond Ankrah Mensah\" align=\"left\" \/>The management of Adom FM has presented the family of Kelvin Mensah, a two-year old hole-in-heart patient for whom the station raised funds, with a check for 6,500 Euros for his second surgery.<\/p>\n<p>The check was handed over to Mrs Rosemond Ankrah Mensah, Kelvin\u2019s mother by Human Resource Manager of Adom FM, George Imbeah at a short ceremony on Tuesday, June 28, at the station\u2019s premises and was live on the morning show, Dwaso Nsem.\u00a0<br \/>Kelvin was diagnosed with a hole-in-heart condition by doctors at the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital and required surgery which would cost 7,500 Euros.<\/p>\n<p>His father Daniel Mensah, who was at his wit\u2019s end made an appeal to Adom FM and as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility, the business unit took it up and launched a massive on-air fund raising campaign in late February 2011, soliciting funds for the 7,500 Euros for the surgery.<\/p>\n<p>The response was massive.\u00a0 Corporate bodies and private individuals in Ghana and across the world responded with various donations and within two months, the campaign had exceeded its target.<\/p>\n<p>Kelvin has undergone his first surgery and is set to undergo the second one very soon.<\/p>\n<p>Mrs Mensah, who was quite emotional and even shed tears expressed her family\u2019s gratitude to the management and staff of Adom FM for the immense support.<\/p>\n<p>With this successful fund-raising campaign, the management of Adom FM is launching a permanent Save A Child&#8217;s Heart (SACH) to facilitate the financial support to other children who may require similar life-saving cardiac surgery.<\/p>\n<p>Ironically, Kelvin Mensah is the first to donate to this fund, even before its official launch.
