Wolves<\/a> defender Jody Craddock<\/a> has signed a one-year contract extension<\/span><\/p>\n

The 35-year-old arrived at Molineux from Sunderland in 2003 for \u00a31.75 million and has made 234 appearances for the club.<\/span><\/p>\n

He admitted that a year ago he thought last season would be his final campaign, but is delighted he will get at least another year in the top flight.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cIt’s good news that it’s all signed and done and dusted and I can concentrate on the year ahead,\u201d he told the club\u2019s official website.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cThis time last year I was maybe thinking it would be my last season which was fine, so to get another year is a big achievement.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

The penning of the deal was understood to be a formality between the player and Wolves, with manager Mick McCarthy having said in May that Craddock was to be given a new contract.<\/span><\/p>\n

The defender won the squad’s player of the season award for the 2009-10 campaign, but was restricted to 16 games this last term becase of injury.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Englishman is hoping his fitness will hold out this year and he is willing to work hard to stake his claim for regular football.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cI’ve always said it’s about concentrating on my own game and doing what I can do then that’s the main thing,\u201d he continued.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cI’ve been keeping myself fit during pre-season to give myself the best possible opportunity to be involved at the start of the season.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cIf I am involved then great, if not then I’ll work as hard as I can to be involved.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cIt is a young man’s game in a sense of physique and how fit the players are but at some point you do need that experience as well.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n
