{"id":449133,"date":"2011-06-28T08:03:42","date_gmt":"2011-06-28T08:03:42","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.ghanamma.net\/2011\/06\/28\/cj-files-complaint-to-igp-over-threats-to-her-life\/"},"modified":"2011-06-28T08:03:42","modified_gmt":"2011-06-28T08:03:42","slug":"cj-files-complaint-to-igp-over-threats-to-her-life","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2011\/06\/28\/cj-files-complaint-to-igp-over-threats-to-her-life\/","title":{"rendered":"CJ files complaint to IGP over threats to her life"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"caption\" src=\"http:\/\/www.ghanamma.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/06\/fb3b7031ood_293_300.jpg.jpg\" border=\"0\" alt=\"Chief Justice, Georgina Theodora Wood\" title=\"Chief Justice, Georgina Theodora Wood\" align=\"left\" \/>The Chief Justice, Her Lordship Georgina Theodora Wood has lodged a formal complaint to the Inspector General of Police over threats on her life.<\/p>\n<p>This was confirmed by Greater Accra Regional Command Public Affairs unit of the Police Service.<\/p>\n<p>The complaint follows persistent calls by elements within the ruling National Democratic Congress for the Chief Justice to resign.<\/p>\n<p>Last week a group calling itself the Network for Social Democrat threatened the Chief Justice to resign or she will be forced to.<\/p>\n<p>The group contended Justice Theodora Wood\u2019s regime has been characterized by \u201cjudicial disorder, bias, corruption, tyranny and dictatorship, as well as judicial arrogance\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>They stated she will &#8220;be forced out through the narrow window if she did not do so peacefully through the broad door.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>It is not clear if the CJ\u2019s complaint has anything to do with the threat by the group.<\/p>\n<p>ASP Cyprian Zenge in an interview with Joy News would not disclose the content of the complaint, saying it will be highly unprofessional to do so.<\/p>\n<p>He told Dzifa Bampoh host of News night on Joy FM that the IGP has directed the Greater Accra Regional Police Commander to, as a matter of urgency conduct an investigation into the complaint.<\/p>\n<p>The Regional Commander on Monday took statement from the CJ and has started investigations into the matter.<\/p>\n<p>Cyprian Zenge said the leaders of the Network for Social Democrat will be invited for questioning as part of the investigations.<\/p>\n<p>Source: Myjoyonline.com\/Ghana<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<div readability=\"7\">\n<hr \/>\n<p>Add this page to your favorite Social Bookmarking websites\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>Originally posted here: <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p> The Chief Justice, Her Lordship Georgina Theodora Wood has lodged a formal complaint to the Inspector General of Police over threats on her life.
