\u00a0Ahead of the constitution of the Federal Executive Council, FEC, the elders and leaders of the Ogun State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Ogun East Senatorial Zone have raised the alarm over the alleged infiltration of the Presidency by \u201csome questionable characters\u201d.<\/p>\n

In a statement yesterday by the Patron, Ogun East Senatorial District, Alhaji Adegoke Agboola, the elders and leaders said the two names \u2013 one Gbenga Ashiru and one Akinwunmi Adesina \u2013 being touted as the ministerial nominees from Ogun State are unknown to the vast majority of the people.<\/p>\n

\u201cFor the avoidance of doubt, we wish to place on record the fact that the two names are strangers who are unknown to the vast majority of party, and in deed the good people of Ogun State.<\/p>\n

The only thing that is known about Ashiru is that he was a former High Commissioner to South Africa during former President Olusegun Obasanjo\u2019s tenure. Since then, nothing has been heard of him. He cannot call himself a PDP member. He has made no financial contribution or otherwise to the party whether before, during or after the April 2011 elections.<\/p>\n

\u201cAdesina is totally unknown to the party and the good people of Ogun State. He has no commitment to the party and the people either formally or informally.\u201d<\/p>\n

The party leaders lamented that it will be unfair for Jonathan to appoint people without consulting the leaders of the party, such as ex-President Obasanjo, who is the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the PDP.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
