West Ham<\/a> defender Winston Reid<\/a> has sent a plea to manager Sam Allardyce<\/a> to allow him to continue plying his trade at Upton Park and not be sold or loaned out.<\/span><\/p>\n

The New Zealand international signed for the Hammers from the Danish side Midtjylland after shining in the 2010 World Cup, but had a miserable debut season as he saw his side relegated from the Premier League.<\/span><\/p>\n

Speculation has mounted regarding the defender\u2019s future with Allardyce looking to sell or loan him out of Upton Park.<\/span><\/p>\n

Reid said according to the Daily Mirror<\/em>: “I want to stay. We have a job to do – getting West Ham back into the Premier League.<\/span><\/p>\n

“I have not spoken to the new manager but I don’t think I will be loaned out or sold.”<\/span><\/p>\n

Reid only made three appearances under Avram Grant after suffering from an injury and then failing to cement any first-team football.<\/span><\/p>\n

His last appearance for West Ham was the 5-1 FA Cup victory over Burnley in February where he scored his only goal of the season.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n
