Ringim has said the training and retraining of police personnel to enable them be competent and more professionally fit has started.<\/p>\n<p>Ringim said this at the inauguration of the committee to work out curriculum training and retraining of the officers in police training institutions.<\/p>\n<p>Training and retraining are part of the cardinal objectives of the on-going reform programme in the force.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, Police Detective College in Enugu and other police colleges have been directed to start retraining of police officers and men in various police duties to meet the present democratic policing in the country, while officers due for promotion, are attending promotion courses to prepare them for responsibilities of their new ranks.<\/p>\n<p>Relatedly, the Anti-terrorism College in Nonwa, Rivers State, has begun intensive anti- terrorism course for officers and men of the force.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, the police have started paying its Group Personal Insurance claims to 228 families of its personnel who either died in line of duty or suffered injuries of varying degrees<\/p>\n<p>The Nigeria Police Force Group Personal Insurance Claim is a scheme meant to ameliorate the sufferings of families of heroes who died on duty; and to take care of the medical expenses of injured officers and men.<\/p>\n<p>According to Force Public Relations Officer Olusola Amore, a Deputy Commissioner of Police, the beneficiaries of the June 2011 insurance claims is made up of 128 claimants under Batch&#8221;3&#8243; of 2010\/2011 policy year and another group of ninety-eight (98) claimants Batch&#8221;9&#8243; of 2008\/2009 policy year.<\/p>\n<p>The Inspector-General of Police Hafiz Ringim, who will personally lead the Police Management Team to conduct the June, 2011 edition of insurance claims payment to beneficiaries, in the Conference Hall, Force Headquarters, Abuja, urged the beneficiaries to complete all the formalities on the 29th of June to enable them collect their claims.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<fieldset>\n<legend align=\"center\"><strong>More News on allAfrica.com<\/strong><\/legend>\n<\/fieldset>\n<p>AllAfrica &#8211; All the Time<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<\/div>\n<\/p>\n<p>Read More:<br \/>\n<a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/allafrica.com\/stories\/201106241323.html\" title=\"Nigeria: Police Personnel for Professional Training\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Nigeria: Police Personnel for Professional Training<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p> 24 June 2011 Abuja \u2014 Inspector-General of Police Hafiz A.
