\"NDCThe National Executive Council (NEC) of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) says it has noted with concern, advertisements in the media to promote the launching of a song for the Party for the 2012 elections.<\/p>\n

A statement issued today said the NEC wishes to indicate that management of the party has no knowledge of the song, and should not be associated with the launching ceremony scheduled for the International Trade Fair Centre, La, in Accra this evening.<\/p>\n

The statement which was signed by General secretary Johnson Asiedu Nketia said although the NEC appreciates the zeal of its individual members and contestants to use the Party colours to promote events, including songs, we wish to caution that such events or programs must be implemented within the confines of the Party\u2019s rules and regulations.<\/p>\n

The NEC wishes to remind the Party members and the general public that, the Party is yet to elect its Flagbearer for the 2012 elections in line with Article 43 of the Party\u2019s constitution.<\/p>\n

It is therefore premature for anybody to be presented as the Flagbearer of the NDC for the 2012 elections before the Party\u2019s special delegate\u2019s congress which comes off in Sunyani on the 9th of July.<\/p>\n
