{"id":446920,"date":"2011-06-24T08:26:39","date_gmt":"2011-06-24T08:26:39","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.ghanamma.net\/2011\/06\/24\/nff-appoints-arbitrator-for-leagues-elections-disputes\/"},"modified":"2011-06-24T08:26:39","modified_gmt":"2011-06-24T08:26:39","slug":"nff-appoints-arbitrator-for-leagues-elections-disputes","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2011\/06\/24\/nff-appoints-arbitrator-for-leagues-elections-disputes\/","title":{"rendered":"NFF Appoints Arbitrator for Leagues&#8217; Elections Disputes"},"content":{"rendered":"<div readability=\"34.0900503778\">\n<hr class=\"thin clear\" \/>\n<hr class=\"thin clear\" \/>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.thisdaylive.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/allafrica.com\/img\/static\/publishers\/minibanners\/thisday180.jpg\" alt=\"This Day (Lagos)\" title=\"Visit This Day (Lagos)\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>23 June 2011<\/p>\n<hr class=\"thin clear\" \/>\n<p>The Nigeria Football Federation on Thursday appointed its own arbitrator for the Arbitration Panel set up by the Executive Committee to adjudicate on issues arising from the elections into the boards of the National, Women and Amateur Leagues.<\/p>\n<p>The elections into the boards of the various Leagues took place on January 29, 2011 in Abuja, as directed by the NFF Congress at the conclusion of its Annual General Assembly in Uyo on December 29, 2010.<\/p>\n<p>Some aggrieved candidates petitioned the NFF Electoral Appeals Committee, which went ahead to nullify the elections.<\/p>\n<p>However, at a meeting of the NFF Executive Committee, which took place in Abuja on March 4 this year, it was resolved that the matter be taken to an Arbitration Panel.<\/p>\n<p>The NFF&#8217;s Arbitrator is Chief Victor Uqua Kaiso Iyanam, who was Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice in Akwa Ibom State between 2007 and 2009.<\/p>\n<p>Chief Iyanam, 47, was a member of the Nigeria Cycling Federation in 1994, has been a Notary Public for Nigeria since 1995 and is married with four children. He was called to the Nigerian Bar as Solicitor and Advocate in 1986.<\/p>\n<p>With this development, the other disputants can now appoint their own arbitrators, in order that the Arbitration Panel will be composed and have its first meeting.<\/p>\n<p>The persons in contention are Chief Emeka Inyama, Ms. Aisha Falode and Mrs Dilichukwu Onyedinma.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<fieldset>\n<legend align=\"center\"><strong>More News on allAfrica.com<\/strong><\/legend>\n<\/fieldset>\n<p>AllAfrica &#8211;
