Manchester United<\/a> winger Antonio Valencia<\/a> insists he does not feel threatened by the signing of Ashley Young<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The 25-year-old spent four-and-a-half years plying his trade for Aston Villa, before making a move to Old Trafford for a fee in the region of \u00a317 million this week.<\/p>\n

Despite the potential competition for places in his position in the starting line-up, the former Wigan Athletic man is welcoming Young’s arrival at Old Trafford.<\/p>\n

“I heard about this on the news, but I do not fear his arrival,” Valencia said, according to The Sun<\/em>.<\/p>\n

“The season is long, and under Alex Ferguson everyone will get their chance in United’s key matches.<\/p>\n

“Ashley is a good footballer and I believe that he will help us towards even more success next season.<\/p>\n

“As for myself, I have two seasons left at United and I am convinced I will fulfil those. And maybe a few more years, too.”<\/p>\n

Valencia is currently on international duty with Ecuador – preparing for his participation in the Copa America tournament this summer – amid some reports pointing towards a potential move away from United.<\/p>\n

“There are rumours about other clubs but I have no news about that,” said Valencia.<\/p>\n

“I am just focused on the Copa America and performing with Ecuador.<\/p>\n

“I have now recovered from the injury problems of last season.”<\/p>\n
