With less than a month to the blast of the electoral whistle in the country, several Liberians have began selecting their political jerseys on one hand, while others too have embarked on a Jehovah evangelization campaign to win more souls into their camps.<\/p>\n

Recently at the 3rd National Convention of the Liberia National Union (LINU) in Tubmanburg, Bomi County, the son of former Liberia Vice President Harry Fumba Moniba urged his fellow compatriots to throw weight behind incumbent President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf to ensure her 2nd term bid for the presidency come October 2011.<\/p>\n

Mr. Paul L. Moniba in a chat with reporters at the convention said President Sirleaf’s administration over the past years, has performed remarkably well that will encourage the youths to overwhelmingly support her 2nd term bid, which he said, will comfortably place Liberia among the comity of nations.<\/p>\n

According to Mr. Moniba, President Sirleaf, through her “open door” governance, which includes transparency, accountability, respect for the rule of law and human rights, has made the country to be respected around the globe, adding, such political dispensation will surely serve as a catalyst for her landslide victory in the pending election.<\/p>\n

The former Vice President son at the same time alluded to the fact that the president had not completed all of the promises made during her 2005 campaign trails, but has met over 85% of her promises. Among major promises delivered include the rehabilitation and construction of roads, schools, health centers, the upholding of the freedom of speech, amongst others.<\/p>\n

Mr. Moniba who is also vying for the Legislative seat for Lofa County, advised eligible voters to exercise their democratic franchise without financial or rhetorical manipulations.<\/p>\n

He then appealed to the people of Liberia to hold together and unit as one people and pray fervently for the smooth holding of a peaceful elections.<\/p>\n

“If Liberians allow themselves to be used by ill-fated and disgruntled individuals to cause problem during this electioneering period, generations unborn will hold them responsible”, he said.<\/p>\n

The representative aspirant then warned his brothers and sisters to be mindful as to who to entrust the sovereignty of the nation to, adding, don’t trust leadership with individuals based on favoritism, nepotism, sectionalism or on tribal or religious affiliations.<\/p>\n
