{"id":446333,"date":"2011-06-23T14:59:13","date_gmt":"2011-06-23T14:59:13","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.ghanamma.net\/2011\/06\/23\/nigeria-akwa-united-wins-appeal-against-3sc\/"},"modified":"2011-06-23T14:59:13","modified_gmt":"2011-06-23T14:59:13","slug":"nigeria-akwa-united-wins-appeal-against-3sc","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2011\/06\/23\/nigeria-akwa-united-wins-appeal-against-3sc\/","title":{"rendered":"Nigeria: Akwa United Wins Appeal Against 3SC"},"content":{"rendered":"<div readability=\"29.8015488867\">\n<hr class=\"thin clear\" \/>\n<hr class=\"thin clear\" \/>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.thisdaylive.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/allafrica.com\/img\/static\/publishers\/minibanners\/thisday180.jpg\" alt=\"This Day (Lagos)\" title=\"Visit This Day (Lagos)\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>22 June 2011<\/p>\n<hr class=\"thin clear\" \/>\n<p>The Appeals Committee of the Nigeria Football Federation on Tuesday upheld the appeal of National League club, Akwa United FC of Uyo against the decision of the Disciplinary Committee which last week awarded their Federation Cup Round of 59 match to Premier League side, 3SC of Ibadan.<\/p>\n<p>On Thursday last week, the Disciplinary Committee had awarded the match, played in Minna on June 14, to 3SC on the strength of Akwa United&#8217;s failure to present players&#8217; licenses before the game.<\/p>\n<p>However, the Appeals Committee headed by Barrister Ibrahim Eddy Mark upheld Akwa&#8217;s appeal and resolved that the result of the match, won by Akwa United 4-2 on penalties, should stand.<\/p>\n<p>This means Akwa United FC will move to the Round of 32 of the 2011 Federation Cup competition at the expense of 3SC.<\/p>\n<p>In another decision, the NFF Appeals Committee decided that a Nigeria National League match between Adamawa United FC and Dalkat FC of Kano, played in Jalingo on May 10, 2011 should be replayed.<\/p>\n<p>The Committee established a case of force majeure to reverse the earlier decision of the Disciplinary Committee. The replay will now take place within 21 days of the decision, and Adamawa United FC will pay the cost of N200, 000 to Dalkat FC as cost for the replay.
