\"AbdulThe Editor-in-Chief of the New Crusading Guide newspaper, Abdul Malik Kweku Baako has admonished Ghana\u2019s ex military leader, Jerry John Rawlings to listen to former President Kufuor\u2019s advice on good statesmanship, adding that he (Rawlings) cannot be an agitator forever.<\/p>\n

Kweku Baako added that it is time for Ghana\u2019s former President to tone down his aggressive posture and constant criticism of past and present governments and be a role model for the youth.<\/p>\n

Mr Baako\u2019s comment comes after former President Kufuor sent a heartwarming birthday message and a friendly piece of advice to his predecessor, former President John Rawlings who turned 64 on Wednesday, June 22, 2011.<\/p>\n

In his message President Kufuor declared, \u201cRawlings is blessed\u2026God has indeed honoured him”.<\/p>\n

The recently named joint-winner of the World Food Prize Foundation Award asked Mr. Rawlings – who ruled Ghana for almost 20 years – to \u201clove God more and cool down his temper\u201d.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe should calm down and control his temper\u2026 and rather thank God,\u201d he jovially said in an interview on Peace FM.<\/p>\n

Speaking on Metro TV\u2019s Good Morning Ghana show on Thursday June 23, Mr Baako said the advice from President Kufuor to his predecessor is indeed the right one but wondered if the founder of the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC) would take it.<\/p>\n

\u201cRawlings must take Kufuor\u2019s advice\u2026you cannot be an agitator general all your life\u2026It gets to a time when you say enough is enough.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe advice is well placed but I am not sure that he will take it because of where it is coming from.”<\/p>\n

Mr Baako added that the upcoming Sunyani congress would reduce the stature of the Rawlingses in the NDC.<\/p>\n

According to him, the NDC delegates are not ready to change the President ahead of the 2012 elections because it could spell doom for the Mills-Mahama government.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhat would happen in Sunyani is that it would reduce the stature of the Rawlingses\u201d he predicted.<\/p>\n
