Sir Alex Ferguson<\/a> on the club\u2019s pre-season tour of the USA.<\/span><\/p>\nThe Premier League champions are now without a first choice keeper since the retirement of Edwin van der Sar after the Champions League final, leaving Lindegaard the battle it out with Tomasz Kuszczak and Ben Amos for the No.1 jersey.<\/span><\/p>\nUnited are also expected to complete a deal to bring David de Gea to Old Trafford from Atletico Madrid to replace the Dutchman.<\/span><\/p>\nLindegaard told the Manchester Evening News<\/em>: \u201cIn\u00a0the USA, it\u2019s going to be especially important for the goalkeepers to play well because Edwin\u2019s retired and the rest of us are fighting for\u00a0that jersey.<\/span><\/p>\n\u201cI know it\u2019s going to be a lot of hard work but I\u2019m looking forward to it very much.<\/span><\/p>\n\u201cI\u2019ve been to Florida twice for training camps with other sides but we didn\u2019t play many games in America \u2013 certainly not big ones in sell-out\u00a0stadiums. That\u2019s going to be a great experience.<\/p>\n
\u201cAlso, I know we\u2019ll do a lot of promotional work in America as well and we\u2019ll get to meet the fans. That\u2019s only natural because we\u2019re the biggest club in the world and America is a huge market.“<\/em><\/p>\nThe Dane admitted he was apprehensive before his move to Manchester because of the size of the club but after six months now feels at home in the city.<\/p>\n
He said: \u201cWhen you come from a small side in Norway you can\u2019t prepare yourself for how big Manchester United is. But, on the other hand, it has the same mechanisms as any other club \u2013 people talk about the same things, they interact in the same way. There\u2019s\u00a0nothing different in that respect \u2013 it\u2019s just that this club is a million times bigger.<\/span><\/p>\n\u201cI\u2019m enjoying my time in Manchester very much \u2013\u00a0more and more with each day that passes, actually. I\u2019m a happy human being at the moment and that\u2019s what life is all about.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
