Organisers of the event, led by one Reverend Eli Lumor, are telling Ghanaians that the aim of the conference, dubbed \u2018Ghana In Prophesy\u2019, is to enable Ghanaians to unearth God\u2019s prophesies and aims for the country.<\/p>\n
However, information gathered by DAILY GUIDE indicates that the conference has been designed to enable these \u2018men of God\u2019 to shore up support and recruit prophets for President Mills, with GH\u00a240,000 (\u00a2400 million) set aside for the agenda.<\/p>\n
It will finally culminate in the men of God prophesying that Mills has been ordained by God to rule the country for yet another term, in what has been described as religious fraud.<\/p>\n
Though the event is being co-ordinated by Rev Lumor, Deputy Minister of Finance and Economic Planning Fiifi Kwetey is allegedly neck-deep in the organisation of the conference since he is believed to be recruiting some of these supposed prophets to join the conference.<\/p>\n
DAILY GUIDE has in its possession an audio recording in which he was heard telling one of these \u2018men of God\u2019 that they (government) were putting together a conference dubbed \u2018Ghana In Prophesy\u2019 and urged him to join the team scheduled to participate in the conference so that he can also share some of the prophesies God has given him.<\/p>\n
On the said taped recording, Fiifi Kwetey is heard asking the pastor how he was doing, with the prophet answering in the affirmative, after which he introduced himself as Fiifi Kwetey since the man of God was not expecting a call from him.<\/p>\n
The Deputy Minister then changed the language of the conversation from English to Ewe.<\/p>\n
He informed the man of God about a conference dubbed \u2018Ghana In Prophesy\u2019 they were putting together to, as he put, it \u201cbring together all instruments who have received specific direction and revelation on the country.\u201d<\/p>\n
Fifi Kwetey claimed to have seen a couple of stories about the man and told him, \u201cI said it might be a good opportunity so that we can get to meet\u2026. let\u2019s hear some of the things God has placed directly on you as well and other people who have received directions\u2026\u201d
At the time, he appeared to be going into a meeting and promised to get back to the man of God later.<\/p>\n
Attempts to speak to Fifi Kwetey on the story proved futile since he refused to answer calls put to his mobile phone.<\/p>\n
Daily Guide also has in its possession another audio recording in which the coordinator of the conference, Rev Lumor was heard telling the prophet (whose identity is being withheld for now) that the Deputy Finance and Economic Planning Minister had asked him to call and meet him over the conference.<\/p>\n
Initially, the prophet agreed to the proposal for him to join his other colleague \u2018men of God\u2019 to organise the programme, but he eventually opted out when he realised that they (organisers) had an entirely different motive, and what they wanted Ghanaians to believe.<\/p>\n
The prophet said he thought it was deceitful.<\/p>\n
The sponsored programme is expected to assemble a host of the so-called men of God, to sing the praises of the President.<\/p>\n
This alleged \u2018prophetic fraud\u2019, as termed by some \u2018whistle-blowers\u2019 close to the organisers, is being perpetrated to present the President as a man of God and therefore he should be given another term to lead the country.<\/p>\n
Daily Guide has stumbled on an audio recording in which a member of the planning committee of the event, one Madam Nimatu, wife of the coordinator, tells one of the prophets scheduled to participate in the conference that government is not only behind the organisation but has indeed voted an amount of GH\u00a240,000 for the programme slated for tomorrow.<\/p>\n
She however pleaded with the said prophet, saying that they have been asked by agents of government not to disclose the Mills government\u2019s involvement in the organisation to the public because it could generate controversy.<\/p>\n
A pastor who confided in DAILY GUIDE that he has been contacted, expressed surprise that there is state support for the programme and that some people have been paid to organise the conference.<\/p>\n
Madam Nimatu, who boasted as being a onetime close associate of former First Lady Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings whilst her husband Rev Lumor was a security officer who drove a top security capo at the Castle during Rawlings regime, also told the said prophet that when the conference is over, they (the organisers) would \u2018heave a sigh of relief\u2019.<\/p>\n
In spite of his wife\u2019s virtual open admission, Rev Lumor denied government\u2019s involvement in the organisation of the prophetic conference.<\/p>\n
Though he refused to answer the question as to who the sponsors of the event are, Lumor told Daily Guide it is being put together by the Prophetic Destiny of Ghana Intercessors Group in conjunction with the National Association of Charismatic Churches (NACC).<\/p>\n
He refused to mention names of the participating pastors.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, adverts on the programme have started flying in the various newspapers and on radio, claiming that ancient and new prophesies, dreams, visions and revelations would be unveiled at this conference.<\/p>\n
It also stated that servants of God with prophetic insights into the grand plans and counsel of God concerning the country and Africa would take turns to speak at the conference and \u201cby the end of the conference, divine direction will be provided on the need for sons and daughters of Ghana and Africa to position themselves and be fully ready for the grand portals of divine socio-economic, political and spiritual transformation on the horizon.\u201d<\/p>\n
Information gathered indicates that members of the planning committee usually meet to have discussions and sometimes pray at Rev Lumor\u2019s house which is near the Dutch Hotel Nshonaa in Nungua, a suburb of Accra.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
