A musical concert, dubbed: \u201cNew Musical Express\u201d, to introduce Jazz music into the Ghanaian music industry has been launched in Accra, on Wednesday.<\/p>\n

Mr Amand Alan, Organiser of the event, said the purpose was to promote jazz music for music lovers in the country.<\/p>\n

He said the concert would feature both local and international music icons. The occasion would also be used to pay tributes to global music legends.<\/p>\n

He said the first edition is slated for Friday, 24 June, and expressed the hope that it would increase Ghanaians interest in Jazz music.<\/p>\n

He called for stakeholders support in the continuous promotion of Jazz music in the country.<\/p>\n

Mr Abraham Davis, Jazz musician, said the event would also be used to unearth young talents interested in jazz music.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt would be an exciting experience performing with Ghanaian musicians and expressed the hope that the impact of the concert and jazz music would be appreciated by all\u201d.<\/p>\n

He urged musician to put up live performances because it promotes the artists in their professional career.<\/p>\n

The event will be held every six weeks.<\/p>\n
