The Supreme Court Bill, 2011 is now law after President Kibaki assented to it.<\/p>\n

The Act of Parliament provides for the operation of the Supreme Court as a court of final judicial authority on among other things asserting the supremacy of the Constitution and our sovereignty.<\/p>\n

However the appointment of judges to the supreme court hangs in the balance following a suit challenging the nomination process.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
