In spite of the fact that the 2012 General Elections is about a year and a half away, Editor-in-chief of the New Crusading Guide newspaper, Abdul Malik Kweku Baako has openly declared which lucky presidential candidate will get his vote saying he will campaign and vote for the flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo come December 2012.<\/p>\n

Though a staunch member of the Convention People\u2019s Party (CPP), Mr Baako also confessed that he has always voted for NPP presidential candidates since the 1992 elections, but consistently voted for CPP Parliamentary candidates.<\/p>\n

Kwaku Baako, who was contributing to a panel discussion on Peace FM\u2019s Kokrokoo Morning Show on Wednesday, June 22, stated emphatically that he will join the NPP flagbearer\u2019s campaign trail as his contribution to ensure the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) is kicked out of power.<\/p>\n

The seasoned journalist who always wears his heart on his sleeve regarding his political affiliation, was reacting to an sms message from the Chief Executive Officer of the Free Zones Board and a member of the ruling NDC, Kwadwo Twum Boafo, who sought to find out which political party\u2019s aim Mr. Baako is championing considering his penchant to defend the opposition NPP at every given opportunity.<\/p>\n

In response, the Editor-In-Chief of the New Crusading Guide proudly admitted that he is sympathetic towards the cause of the NPP, stressing that he had so far voted for about three of the party\u2019s presidential candidates, from Professor Adu Boahen, former President John Agyekum Kufuor – 1996, 2000 and 2004 elections \u2013 as well as Nana Addo in the 2008 elections.<\/p>\n

\u201cI am a CPP member but since the advent of multi-party democracy, I\u2019ve always voted for the CPP parliamentary candidate in my constituency but when it comes to Presidential; so far, I have voted for Professor Adu Boahen, former President Kufuor from 1996 to 2004 and I voted for Akufo Addo in 2008 and I will vote for Nana Addo in 2012. \u2026 oh yeah, I will vote for Nana Addo in 2012, in fact I will campaign for him,\u201d he declared.<\/p>\n

\u201c\u2026over the years\u2026I\u2019ve been selecting about 50 constituencies and offering them my support by mobilizing logistics\u2026because I believe they are constituencies that we have the potential to win and have a more credible presence in parliament. \u2026so that is my strategy,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
