Ex-President John Agyekum Kufuor has sent a heartwarming birthday message and a friendly piece of advice to his predecessor, former President Jeremiah John Rawlings who turned 64 on Wednesday, June 22nd.<\/p>\n
\u201cRawlings is blessed\u2026God has indeed honoured him,\u201d he stated in an exclusive interview with Kwami Sefa Kayi on PeaceFM\u2019s \u201cKokrokoo\u201d programme.<\/p>\n
The recently named joint-winner of the World Food Prize Foundation Award also asked Mr. Rawlings who ruled Ghana for some 19-years to \u201clove God more, and cool down his temper\u201d.<\/p>\n
\u201cI didn\u2019t know it\u2019s his birthday (today)\u2026and it has coincided with my being named an award winner\u2026good\u2026 I wish him all the best on this great occasion,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
Mr. Kufuor admitted that \u201cit\u2019s not easy to rule a country like Ghana for about 19-years\u201d, but opined that the former President was able to do so because of God\u2019s blessings on his life.<\/p>\n
\u201cHe should calm down and control his temper\u2026 and rather thank God,\u201d he jovially said.<\/p>\n
The former President, (born Jeremiah Rawlings John) was born on June 22, 1947 to Victoria Agbotui from Keta and to James Ramsey John, a Scottish chemist working in the then Gold Coast.<\/p>\n
He married Nana Konadu Agyeman Rawlings in 1977 and together they have four children: three girls and a boy.<\/p>\n
He enlisted as a Flight Cadet in the Ghana Air Force in August 1967, and was subsequently selected for officer cadet training at the Ghana Military Academy and Training School, Teshie, in Accra.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
