Wigan Atheltic<\/a> chairman Dave Whelan has revealed that star winger Charles N’Zogbia<\/a> is almost certainly going to leave the club this summer, but admits he will wait for the “right price” for the player.<\/p>\n

Liverpool, Newcastle United and Sunderland have all been linked with the Frenchman, who has 12 months remaining on his existing deal.<\/p>\n

N’Zogbia was close to switching to Birmingham last summer in a \u00a39 million deal, however, the move collapsed after he failed to agree personal terms.<\/p>\n

Speaking to the Wigan Evening Post<\/em>, Whelan revealed: “I do think he wil go this summer, but we want the right price before we allow that to happen.<\/p>\n

“We have a fee in mind and we are fighting to get that fee.<\/p>\n

“There has been an awful lot of interest in Charles. We’ve had three or four clubs biting, wanting to be kept in the know.”<\/p>\n

However, despite the interest in the former Newcastle man, no offers have been made for the 25-year-old.<\/p>\n

<\/span><\/p>\n

“There’s been no official bids yet, and I think it’ll be another week to 10 days before things get as serious as that,” Whelan continued.<\/span><\/p>\n

“But he’s worth a hell of a lot more than the fee we’re asking.<\/span><\/p>\n

“Whichever club gets Charles will be getting a great player for far less than what he is actually worth.”<\/span><\/p>\n

Commenting on the possibility of clubs overlooking N’Zogbia due to his failed move to Birmingham, Whelan stated: “That wasn’t his fault at all.<\/p>\n

“It was the agents who were to blame for what happened, not Charles.”<\/p>\n
