Striker Emmanuel Adebayor wants to solve water problems in Hamile and Ko<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Striker Emmanuel Adebayor will arrive in the Upper West Region of Ghana on Wednesday to commission two boreholes to solve the age-long water problems of two needy towns.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Thousands are expected at the small airport in Wa, the capital of the the region, where he will land before heading to the towns.<\/p>\n

The Manchester City attacker will be accompanied by the Ghana FA boss Kwesi Nyantakyi to launch the project that will bring a huge relieve to the people of Hamile and Ko.<\/p>\n

Women and children in the two towns have to walk five miles each day to a river to fetch water for their daily chores, cooking and washing.<\/p>\n

After consulting with the Ghana FA boss, Adebayor decided to end the punishing daily water-search for the people of the two towns.<\/p>\n

\u201cFootball can be used as a force for good and as Adebayor has decided on this I am giving him my full support to carry out this project,\u201d Nyantakyi said.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis will encourage others \u2013 not only footballers- but also those blessed to go out there and help the needy.\u201d<\/p>\n

This comes just one week after the striker spent US$200,00 in northern Togo to solve similar problems in Sorkodie.<\/p>\n

A grand durbar of the chiefs in the region will be held in honour of Adebayor later on in the day before a friendly match to honour him.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, students in primary and junior high school in the region have vowed not to attend classes today just to catch a glimpse of the striker.<\/p>\n

Teachers and parents will struggle to rein them in.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/p>\n
