{"id":444692,"date":"2011-06-21T06:18:16","date_gmt":"2011-06-21T06:18:16","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.ghanamma.net\/2011\/06\/21\/nigeria-soldiers-raid-bayelsa-community-in-search-of-hoodlums\/"},"modified":"2011-06-21T06:18:16","modified_gmt":"2011-06-21T06:18:16","slug":"nigeria-soldiers-raid-bayelsa-community-in-search-of-hoodlums","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2011\/06\/21\/nigeria-soldiers-raid-bayelsa-community-in-search-of-hoodlums\/","title":{"rendered":"Nigeria: Soldiers Raid Bayelsa Community in Search of Hoodlums"},"content":{"rendered":"<div readability=\"33.6065045415\">\n<hr class=\"thin clear\" \/>\n<hr class=\"thin clear\" \/>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.vanguardngr.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/allafrica.com\/img\/static\/publishers\/minibanners\/vanguard180.jpg\" alt=\"Vanguard (Lagos)\" title=\"Visit Vanguard (Lagos)\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Samuel Oyadongha<\/p>\n<p>18 June 2011<\/p>\n<hr class=\"thin clear\" \/>\n<p>The oil rich Bilabiri community in Ekeremor local government area of Bayelsa State was yesterday thrown into confusion following the invasion of the community by the Joint Task Force, JTF, in search of some hoodlums allegedly terrorizing the Dodo River and Clough Creek on the Atlantic fringe of the state.<\/p>\n<p>Sunday Vanguard learnt that the military operation in the coastal settlement lasted about three and a half hours.<\/p>\n<p>The heavily armed soldiers were said to have stormed the community at about 7.30 a.m. in gunboats when most of the indigenes who had gone on fishing expedition the previous night were returning home.<\/p>\n<p>The terrified indigenes were said to have fled and took refuge in the forest until they were prevailed upon to return to their homes.<\/p>\n<p>It was reliably learnt that the soldiers were after the fleeing members of the Niger Delta Liberation Force (NDLF) and some hoodlums terrorizing the waters.<\/p>\n<p>Spokesman of the Bilabiri Kingdom, Mr. Franklin Simon, told Sunday Vanguard that the soldiers actually came to the community about 7.30 a.m. and left around noon.<\/p>\n<p>Simon said though the presence of the military might not be unconnected with the report that some hoodlums were terrorizing the Dodo River and Clough Creek the indigenes of the community, on sighting the armed soldiers, took to their heels for fear of the unknown.<\/p>\n<p>Contacted on the development, the coordinator, Joint Media Campaign Centre, Lt.
