{"id":444417,"date":"2011-06-20T16:29:25","date_gmt":"2011-06-20T16:29:25","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.ghanamma.net\/2011\/06\/20\/lulzsec-attacks-uk-crime-agency\/"},"modified":"2011-06-20T16:29:25","modified_gmt":"2011-06-20T16:29:25","slug":"lulzsec-attacks-uk-crime-agency","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2011\/06\/20\/lulzsec-attacks-uk-crime-agency\/","title":{"rendered":"LulzSec attacks UK crime agency"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><div readability=\"55.9373567609\"><span><span>20 June 2011<\/span> <span>Last updated at<\/span> <span>12:29 ET<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Hacking group Lulz Security claims to has taken offline the website of the UK Serious Organised Crime agency (Soca).<\/p>\n<p>Www.soca.gov.uk was unavailable for a time on Monday afternoon and appeared to be working only intermittently by the evening.<\/p>\n<p>With no immediate comment from Soca, LulzSec tweeted: &#8220;Tango down &#8211; in the name of #AntiSec&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>The group has been responsible for a number of high-profile web attacks, hitting the CIA and US Senate.<\/p>\n<p>Soca has most likely been the victim of a distributed denial of service (DDoS) attack, where a number of computers, under malicious control, overload their target with web requests.<\/p>\n<p>The technique appears to be a favourite of Lulz Security.<\/p>\n<p>Over the weekend, the shadowy group declared that it would begin targeting government systems, calling the campaign Antisec.<\/p>\n<p>In an online posting, Lulzsec set out its agenda: &#8220;Top priority is to steal and leak any classified government information, including email spools and documentation.
