Javier Hernandez<\/a> has spoken of his great desire to bring further success and silverware to Old Trafford, and about his incredible first season in the Premier League.<\/p>\nHernandez was speaking in the aftermath of Mexico\u2019s victory over Guatemala in the Gold Cup in New York, a game in which he scored with a cheeky back-heel, helping his national team win 2-1.<\/p>\n
Hernandez told L\u2019Equipe<\/em>: \u201cEarly in the season, I thought I would have limited playing time, or very limited. At best, I thought my season would involve me being a joker who came off the bench late in the game trying to unlock a complicated situation.<\/p>\n\u201cBasically, the goal of the season was essentially to adapt to the Premier League, especially physically. But gradually I got playing time, and I started to feel confident, scoring a few goals early in the season.<\/p>\n
\u201cEverything went so fast. I could not have hoped for such a good campaign. I had a dream season.\u201d<\/p>\n
Hernandez spoke of the increased confidence that came with scoring twice against Stoke City, and he believes that Manchester United can add to the silverware they won last season.<\/p>\n
He said:\u00a0 \u201cAs a group, I am very happy to have won the championship of England. This is a wonderful thing, especially after a fierce title race. \u00a0<\/p>\n
\u201cChelsea, Arsenal or even Manchester City battled to the end, but we never doubted our strength. Manchester United has such soul and such generosity.<\/p>\n
\u201cSuccess is written into the DNA of this club, I\u2019m in the best club in the world. Everything is done to succeed and win titles.<\/p>\n
\u201cOnly defeat in the final of the Champions League was a big disappointment. Personally, I am extremely happy with my season, but I do not rest on my laurels.<\/p>\n
\u201cI want to do even better next season. I want to help this club make history.\u201d<\/p>\n
