Zinox boss, Mr. Leo Stan Eke, has donated an information and communication technology (ICT) centre to the Catholic Church of Divine Mercy, Admiralty Way, Lekki, Lagos.

“He (Eke) chaired the red ball event where we tried to raise funds to do some projects and so he decided to take responsibility for the ICT centre. We have here 20 PCs, 20 USBs and every other thing that accompanies the computers are 20. We have one laser printer and one ordinary printer and, of course, the tables and chairs were all donated by the MD of Zinox”, the president of Confraternity of Christian Mothers of the Church, Mrs. Ada Dan Okafor, said at an occasion by the group recently.

Okafor listed other projects that the group had embarked upon to include the procurement of pews, a bus for the use of parishioners and empowerment of 50 women.

“My Vice, Mrs. Chinelo Jerry Chukwueke and myself went around Lagos to source for money and a lot of people responded to that and these are what our efforts have resulted in”, she added. Okafor commended the Spiritual Director of the Church, Rev. Father Anthony Fadairo, whose advice, she said, has seen them through. Highlight of the event was the screening of 120 women for cervical and breast cancer.

There was also a presentation of N2 million naira cheque by the group for the women empowerment scheme to Harmony Micro Finance Bank, the banker in charge of the scheme.

Rev. Father Anthony Fadairo, who was overwhelmed by the gesture of the women, said, “We want to use this opportunity to thank the president and all members and executives of Confraternity of Christian Mothers for the work they have been doing for God and for the church, most especially for the new projects they have just handed over to our parish today”.
