Manchester United<\/a> has been cast into further doubt after his agent revealed he has had no contact from the Old Trafford club since the end of the season.<\/p>\nThe Bulgarian striker has just one year left on his current contract and talks have stalled over a new deal as Berbatov felt he deserved a better offer than a one-year rolling deal after topping the Premier League scoring charts last season with 21 goals.
Goal.com<\/strong> revealed earlier this month that the 30-year-old had told United the week before the Champions League final that he is happy to run down his \u00a380,000-a-week contract and leave on a free transfer next year.<\/p>\nBerbatov, who cost \u00a330.75m when he signed from Tottenham in the sumer of 2008, was left out of the 18-man squad for the Champions League final defeat to Barcelona, and is attracting interest from a number of clubs across Europe.<\/p>\n
His agent, Emil Dantchev, has now admitted that his client’s future is up in the air and says he has had no contact from chief executive David Gill or manager Sir Alex Ferguson.<\/p>\n
\u201cThere is no news because we have not heard anything from anyone,\u201d Dantchev told Goal.com<\/strong>. \u201cAfter we speak to Manchester United, we will know more but now he is very happy to be a Manchester United player.<\/p>\n\u201cMany clubs would be interested in Dimitar but he wants to stay in Manchester and win more trophies. He has a contract and he is not paying attention to the British media.\u201d<\/p>\n
Berbatov admitted his was \u201cashamed\u201d of his Champions League final snub and United are believed to be ready to sell him this summer and recoup some of their initial outlay, rather than risk letting him leave for free next June.<\/p>\n
Tottenham have been mooted as a possible destination because of United’s interest in Luka Modric, but the north Londoners are unlikely to be interested following his acrimonious departure from White Hart Lane three years ago.<\/p>\n
German giants Bayern Munich have been linked with a \u00a310m bid while the former Bayer Leverkusen man has told friends he would be interested in a move to Spain or even Turkey.<\/p>\n
