{"id":442178,"date":"2011-06-16T07:54:46","date_gmt":"2011-06-16T07:54:46","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.ghanamma.net\/2011\/06\/16\/one-dead-10-on-admission-after-eating-poisoned-food\/"},"modified":"2011-06-16T07:54:46","modified_gmt":"2011-06-16T07:54:46","slug":"one-dead-10-on-admission-after-eating-poisoned-food","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2011\/06\/16\/one-dead-10-on-admission-after-eating-poisoned-food\/","title":{"rendered":"One dead, 10 on admission after eating &#8220;poisoned&#8221; food"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.ghanamma.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/06\/1d532aea020x20175.jpg.jpg\" border=\"0\" align=\"left\" \/>One person is reportedly dead while ten others are still on admission at the Adabraka Polyclinic in Accra after allegedly eating poisoned food.<\/p>\n<p>Hospital authorities say the victims are responding to treatment after they were rushed to the Hospital on Monday.<\/p>\n<p>When Asempa News visited the hospital, the victims were wearing diapers to hold the uncontrollable flow of faeces.<\/p>\n<p>Narrating what transpired, one of the victims said on Sunday, June 11, they attended a birthday party for their grandfather at Adabraka and ate rice and stew, jollof rice and banku.<\/p>\n<p>He said some minutes after eating the food, they experienced stomachaches which later extended to severe diarrhea and six of them were rushed to the hospital immediately.<\/p>\n<p>He added that on Monday, June 12, five others were also rushed to the hospital with the same symptoms, but one of them died on arrival.<\/p>\n<p>Staff on duty at the time Asempa News visited the Hospital were reluctant to give further information since they did not have the mandate to do so.
