Calabar \u2013 The Election Petitions Tribunal sitting in Calabar, Cross River State, has granted the request by the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, to include the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, among the list of its witnesses for the House of Representatives election for Calabar Municipality\/Odukpani Federal Constituency.<\/p>\n

The tribunal also granted a similar leave sought by the PDP candidate for the House of Representatives election in Akpabuyo\/Bakassi\/Calabar South Federal Constituency.<\/p>\n

The leave followed argument by the PDP counsel, Mr Ndoma Egodo and Mr Effeffiom Ekong, that the party should be allowed to answer to the allegations raised in the petitions against it and its candidates by the Action Congress of Nigeria, ACN, candidates Mr. Eyo Ekpo and Williams Ballantyne, who contested the April 9, House of Representatives election for Calabar Municipality\/Odukpani and Calabar South\/Akpabuyo\/Bakassi constituencies respectively.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
