KANO \u2014 THE Emir of Kano, Alhaji Ado Bayero, said the achievements of the immediate past governor of Kano State, Malam Ibrahim Shekarau, prompted the Kano Emirate Council to appoint him as member\u00a0 and Sarduana\u00a0 Kano.<\/p>\n

He also noted that this was done\u00a0 to make Shekarau\u00a0 contribute to decisions of the Emirate.<\/p>\n

The Emir stated this when he received a delegation of friends and supporters of Shekarau led by Alhaji Hamza Usman Darma in his palace.<\/p>\n

He said as governor, Malam Ibrahim Shekarau did much toward the upliftment of Islam and the social life of Kano people.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis landmark achievements by the Sardauna was what prompted the Kano Emirate to appoint him member of the Kano Emirate so that he can as well contribute in all decisions of the Council for the betterment of the people of the state,\u201d he noted.<\/p>\n

He thanked the delegation for the visit and wished the Sardauna\u00a0 success in his endeavours.<\/p>\n

Earlier, in his speach,\u00a0 the leader of the delegation, Alhaji Hamza Darma, said they were at the palace to thank the Emir on the appointment of Malam Ibrahim Shekarau as a member of Kano Emirate Council.<\/p>\n

He assured the Emir of the group\u2019s continued cooperation towards the maintenance of peace in the state.<\/p>\n

The delegation comprise of relations, former Commissioners, Special Advisers and political associate of Malam Ibrahim Shekarau.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
