OSOGBO \u2013 THE prosecution of an Osogbo based baker, Afolabi Nurudeen, who allegedly attacked and assaulted officials of National Agency for Drug Administration and Control, NAFDAC, has been stalled\u00a0 due to absence of the presiding judge at the Federal High Court, Osogbo Osun State.<\/p>\n

The case was originally slated to resume on Tuesday.<\/p>\n

Armed with the charge sheet containing a one-count against Afolabi, Counsel to NAFDAC, Oche Matthias Abutu,\u00a0 had filed his application and ready for the arraignment of the accused person when the court clerk announced that the matter could not hold because of\u00a0 the absence of the judge.<\/p>\n

Afolabi was accused of physically assaulting and inflicted serious injury on the Osun State Head of NAFDAC, Mrs. Yedunni Adenuga and her team while on official duty at a bakery owned by Afolabi.<\/p>\n

The incident occurred at 13, Isale Agbara Street, Osogbo on 15th of March, 2010 when Afolabi allegedly tried to prevent the NAFDAC team from inspecting his bakery.<\/p>\n

NAFDAC operatives had stormed the bakery\u00a0 on a tip off that Afolabi was baking his bread with the prohibited potassium bromate.<\/p>\n

NAFDAC vowed to prosecute the matter to a logical conclusion and ensure that Afolabi was brought to book.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
