A ONE-year-old child does not even flinch as a hungry lioness tries to gobble him up. Little Trent is rooted to the spot while beast Angie attempts to snare him in her jaws.

But the brave youngster remains out of harm’s way throughout – protected by a secure glass wall in a zoo.

The amazing footage was shot earlier this year by the lad’s parents in Cheyenne, Wyoming, US.

Tiny Trent is first seen sat in front of the lion’s den. His presence quickly sparks Angie’s attention.

A protective parent snatches the child off the floor — but soon puts him back down again after he complains.

The curious child then goes face to face with the beast who repeatedly attempts to claw him.

The 30 stone creature then snaps its killer jaws back, baring rows of razor sharp teeth — but its efforts are all for nothing as young Trent stays safe and sound throughout.
