Equities&#8217; capitalisation closed lower at N8.164 trillion after it dropped N22.755 billion; while the All-Share Index lost 71.17 basis points or 0.27 per cent to close at 25,533.68.<\/p>\n<p>Trading machine recorded a total of 158.090 million shares; valued at N1.599 billion in 4,718 transactions as against a total of 154.723 million shares; valued at N1.429 billion in 4,719 transactions recorded on Monday with the banking sub-sector accounting for a total of 102.303 million shares; valued at N659.038 million in 2,566 transactions as against 80.243 million shares; valued at N610.524 million in 2,712 transactions recorded on Monday.<\/p>\n<p>A total of 17 companies made it to the gainers&#8217; table as against 18 on Monday; while 28 made it to the losers&#8217; table as against 26 the previous day.<\/p>\n<p>Petroleum marketer, Mobil Oil Nigeria, led the losers&#8217; table on Tuesday with a loss of 449 kobo to close at N159.00 per share; followed by Ecobank Transnational Incorporated shed 78 kobo to close at N15.00 per share; Cadbury Nigeria went down by 51 kobo to close at N18.50 per share; building materials&#8217; Lafarge Cement WAPCO depreciated by 39 kobo to close at N47.61 per share; while First Bank of Nigeria led the banking sub-sector on the laggards&#8217; table when it dropped 38 kobo to close at N13.11 per share.<\/p>\n<p>Cement Company of Northern Nigeria went down by 30 kobo to close at N10.30 per share; Presco lost 29 kobo to close at N7.71 per share; Ecobank Nigeria and Access Bank lost 18 kobo each to close at N3.52 and N7.02 per share respectively; while RT Briscoe went down by 12 kobo to close at N2.29 per share; among others.<\/p>\n<p>The gainers &#8216;table was led by Unilever Nigeria with a gain of 100 kobo to close at N29.00 per share; followed by building materials&#8217; Ashaka Cement which grabbed 95 kobo to close at N24.47 per share; Nigerian Breweries added 90 kobo to its share price to close at N91.00 per share; Guinness Nigerian gained 50 kobo to close at N245.00 per share; while Nigerian Bottling Company nicked 48 kobo to close at N40.53 per share.<\/p>\n<p>The share price of Eterna Oil and Gas appreciated by 23 kobo to close at N4.93 per share; Air Service and Logistics grabbed 12 kobo to close at N2.66 per share; Cutix nicked 8 kobo to close at N2.18 per share; National Salt Company of Nigeria gained 5 kobo to close at 6.54 per share; while Ikeja Hotel added 4 kobo to close at N1.44 per share; among others.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<fieldset>\n<legend align=\"center\"><strong>More News on allAfrica.com<\/strong><\/legend>\n<\/fieldset>\n<p>AllAfrica &#8211; All the Time<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<\/div>\n<\/p>\n<p>Continue reading here:<br \/>\n<a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/allafrica.com\/stories\/201106150348.html\" title=\"Nigeria: NSE Index Hits Four-Week Low, Sheds 0.27 Percent\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Nigeria: NSE Index Hits Four-Week Low, Sheds 0.27 Percent<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p> Daily Independent (Lagos) Bamidele Ogunwusi Andlucy Eazee 14 June 2011 Indicators of the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) closed in red on Tuesday as NSE Index hit the lowest in the last four weeks.
