Wolverhampton Wanderers<\/a> defender Ronald Zubar<\/a> insists that he intends to return to full fitness in due course, after having missed a portion of last season including the last few weeks of the survival campaign.<\/p>\n

The 25-year-old was battling back problems last season before manager Mick McCarthy announced in March that the former Marseille man would undergo surgery to correct the issue.<\/p>\n

Having gone under the knife and taken time off from the game, the defender hopes to be completely fit in time for the next campaign.<\/p>\n

“I’m getting better day by day and week by week,” Zubar told the Birmingham Mail<\/em>.<\/p>\n

“I had to rest for a month after the surgery and then came back and started doing gym work to get the back stronger.<\/p>\n

“I’ve started with fitness coach Tony Daley outside and that’s never easy – we are never happy to see Tony!<\/p>\n

“You know you are in for a hard day but I am happy to be back outside as staying in the gym is always difficult.<\/p>\n

“I’ll come back a little bit early before the rest of the lads just to check everything is all okay and make sure I am ready for pre-season.”<\/p>\n
