{"id":440648,"date":"2011-06-14T05:29:56","date_gmt":"2011-06-14T05:29:56","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.ghanamma.net\/2011\/06\/14\/woman-arrested-for-allegedly-killing-spouse\/"},"modified":"2011-06-14T05:29:56","modified_gmt":"2011-06-14T05:29:56","slug":"woman-arrested-for-allegedly-killing-spouse","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2011\/06\/14\/woman-arrested-for-allegedly-killing-spouse\/","title":{"rendered":"Woman Arrested for Allegedly Killing Spouse"},"content":{"rendered":"<div readability=\"35.8723803566\">\n<hr class=\"thin clear\" \/>\n<hr class=\"thin clear\" \/>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.newtimes.co.rw\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/allafrica.com\/img\/static\/publishers\/minibanners\/newtimes180.jpg\" alt=\"The New Times (Kigali)\" title=\"Visit The New Times (Kigali)\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Gatsata<\/p>\n<p>14 June 2011<\/p>\n<hr class=\"thin clear\" \/>\n<p>Police in Gatsata sector have arrested a woman suspected of killing her husband.<\/p>\n<p>Marie Theresa Musabyimana, 35, allegedly confessed to hitting her husband on the head.<\/p>\n<p>She said that on Saturday night at around 2 a.m., her husband knocked at the door and when she opened, he instead kicked her, which prompted her to pick a piece of wood and hit him on the head.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We used to have conflicts and it was always due to his drunkenness and refusal to raise money to cater for the family,&#8221; she said.<\/p>\n<p>Though Musabyimana confesses to slaying her husband, she claims it was an accident.<\/p>\n<p>A police officer, who had attended a security meeting on Sunday, June 12, near the suspect&#8217;s home, was informed of groans stemming from a nearby house.<\/p>\n<p>When he entered the house, he found the deceased unconscious and lying in a pool of blood.<\/p>\n<p>The officer immediately arrested the victim&#8217;s wife and took the victim to Kibagabaga hospital where he was pronounced dead a few hours later.<\/p>\n<p>Anatarie Mukaruyange, the Executive Secretary of Rubonobono Cell, said the family has been characterised by financial conflicts.<\/p>\n<p>Police spokesperson Superintendent Theos Badege condemned the act.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Government channels of justice are clear and known.
