*Accuses media of partisanship<\/p>\n

LAGOS-VICE-Presidential Candidate of the Congress for Progressive Change, CPC, Pastor Tunde Bakare, in the April presidential election has exonerated the presidential candidate of the party, General Mohammadu Buhari, from the post-election violence allegedly perpetrated by CPC supporters, noting that the party is not a group of killers.<\/p>\n

He also claimed that the media did not report the crises in a good manner, saying all the reports about the violence was one-sided.<\/p>\n

Briefing newsmen, yesterday, in Lagos, Bakare lamented that President Goodluck Jonathan commented on the violence on the sixth day, adding that it was not a good step from the chief security officer of a nation.<\/p>\n

According to him, \u201cDespite the fact that Gen. Buhari is\u00a0 not the chief security officer of Nigeria,\u00a0 he spoke on BBC, he spoke on\u00a0 Al- Jazeera , he went on Channel Television to condemn the killings, the crises and all that was going on, and to say that\u00a0 we are not part of.<\/p>\n

\u201dWe are glad that the big wigs of PDP themselves, are now saying that we are not responsible.<\/p>\n

\u201cLast week, IBB said Gen. Buhari,\u00a0 was not responsible for the\u00a0 carnage,\u00a0\u00a0 and he also testified that the elections were not\u00a0 simply rigged.\u00a0 We are not killers, fortunately, the God that I serve does not drink blood, He shed His own blood for the whole earth, and haven\u2019t\u00a0 taken my time,\u00a0 I found time, I have come to speak and to let the nation know that is the whole truth about the crises.\u201d<\/p>\n

He stressed that CPC will be rebuilt, adding that the party is a force to reckon with in the country.<\/p>\n

\u201cAnother thing is the press, which\u00a0 did not report the crises well. It is not that I am attacking the press but all the reports were one-sided. Go to Kaduna, you will find evidence of killings. Over 500 people were buried in mass graves. Nobody reported it, I have video evidence of this,\u201d he stated.<\/p>\n

In addition, Bakare said, \u201cIf what we have done is right, good things will come out of it, if it is not right, don\u2019t expect any crooked means to bring about a constructive end, it won\u2019t happen, that is the summary of everything.\u201d<\/p>\n

He said, \u201cYou have not been fair on this matter. There was repraisal attack by the sympathisers of\u00a0 PDP, yet it was not reported. Why did it take the President of Nigeria six days to comment on this issue, when we were crying on top of our voices. We should not give a dog the bad name.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
