Ghana and Chelsea midfielder Michael Essien will join a host of other stars including Prince Albert, Prince of Monaco to unveil a MontBlanc watch for the Michael Essien Foundation on June 13 in Spain.<\/strong><\/p>\nPart of the proceeds from the sale of the watches are expected to fund activities of the foundation.<\/p>\n
A statement on the website of the Ghanaian international said \u201cWe are delighted MontBlanc are supporting the Michael Essien Foundation with the creation of these beautiful time pieces.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe funds raised will be a welcome benefit to the people of Awutu who are and will continue to benefit from the Foundation.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe are extemely honoured that Prince Albert will be attending the function. It is a once in a lifetime opportunity and we are truly grateful for his presence\u201d the statement said.<\/p>\n
A spokesperson from the Principality of Monaco, who is part of the organising committee stated that there were limited edition with only 15 pieces of the watch created by MontBlanc.<\/p>\n
He added that \u201cThis beautiful watch has been crafted for the high end of the market and each one is priced at 17,000 Euros\u201d.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe will donate one to the Prince for being our guest and for spending his time with us and once the rest are sold half of the proceeds will go to the Michael Essien Foundation for the medical and vocational projects they have underway in Ghana\u201d the spokesperson added.<\/p>\n
The luxurious watch is made of pink gold and tantalum with rubber bracelet and will have the Michael Essien Foundation logo and MontBlanc enbossed on it.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/p>\n
