Afabet \u2014 The inhabitants of Gadim-Halib administrative area, Afabet sub-zone, are carrying out development activities aimed at boosting agricultural production.<\/p>\n

The popular campaign includes leveling of land plots and diverting river water flowing from the highlands, as well as construction and renovation of embankments. About 1,600-meter long water catchments have so far been constructed, in addition to leveling over 6,000 hectares of land.<\/p>\n

The chairman of farmers’ association in Wadi-Labka, Mr. Ahmed Hamid Shosheb, pointed out that the local inhabitants are doing their level best for the effective implementation of the envisaged programs, particularly in efforts to achieve food security.<\/p>\n

The head of the Agriculture Ministry’s branch in the sub-zone, Mr. Hagos Gebretinsae, on his part commended the active participation of the farming community in the undertakings.<\/p>\n
