Alarming reports from the parliament house of Ghana say the Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) cameras in the house that monitor movements in an around the premises, have not been working for years now.<\/p>\n

This came to light when a three-member committee was formed to gather information on what led to what was believed to be \u201cjuju\u201d found under the seat of the Minority Leader and Member of Parliament for Suame, Osei Kyei Mensah-Bonsu, apparently to subdue and charm him into a moron, known in local parlance as ‘gyimi-gyimi’.<\/p>\n

The committee which is expected to present its report by close of Thursday found out that the CCTV Cameras in the house had not been working since 2009.<\/p>\n

Major Rtd Deric Oduro is a member of the committee and he tells Adom News, the situation is so serious that parliamentarians do not feel safe at all.<\/p>\n

When the issue concerning the Minority leader\u2019s chair broke, a parliamentary staff disclosed to Newsmen that a group of ‘mallams’ and some people believed to be occult grand-masters were seen spraying a sweet-scented substance and murmuring some strange-sounding incantations in the main Chamber of the House during the late hours of Tuesday January 6, 2009.<\/p>\n

Indeed, on the next day when Mr. Kyei Mensah-Bonsu took his seat in the Chamber, he felt uneasy in the chair and immediately drew the attention of the House to the fact that he suspected there was something amiss about the seat.<\/p>\n

During the replacement, it was detected that the chair had been badly tampered with and the black-coated iron part that joined the seat to the stand, removed and replaced with a very bright sparkling lead.<\/p>\n

The cover cloth beneath the chair had also been removed and replaced, but sown with a needle and thread, giving it a completely different look.<\/p>\n

An inspection of the chairs in the Chamber revealed that only Mr. Kyei Mensah-Bonsu’s chair had this strange metal fixed beneath it.<\/p>\n

The development sparked controversy as it was explained to the Minority Leader that lead is a very potent material for \u201cjuju\u201d and that it is used in subduing people into docility and imbecility.<\/p>\n

But Major Derick Oduro alleged that the security laps in the house made it easy for a journalist, Justice Annan to sneak into the premises one midnight, but was arrested by the security guards on duty.<\/p>\n
