{"id":438663,"date":"2011-06-09T08:37:40","date_gmt":"2011-06-09T08:37:40","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.ghanamma.net\/2011\/06\/09\/bongo-to-meet-obama-in-white-house\/"},"modified":"2011-06-09T08:37:40","modified_gmt":"2011-06-09T08:37:40","slug":"bongo-to-meet-obama-in-white-house","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2011\/06\/09\/bongo-to-meet-obama-in-white-house\/","title":{"rendered":"Bongo to Meet Obama in White House"},"content":{"rendered":"<div readability=\"31.0777005685\">\n<hr class=\"thin clear\" \/>\n<hr class=\"thin clear\" \/>\n<p>Gabonese Government (Gabon)<\/p>\n<p>9 June 2011<\/p>\n<hr class=\"thin clear\" \/>\n<p>press release<\/p>\n<p>President Ali Bongo will be received on Thursday June 9 at the White House by his American counterpart Barack Obama.<\/p>\n<p>President Bongo has been in the United States since the beginning of the week to attend the UN Security Council, of which Gabon is the president for the month of June.<\/p>\n<p>During their talks, the two presidents will discuss bilateral issues and regional policy, including the latest developments in the areas of security, democracy, governance and economic development.<\/p>\n<p>This is the first meeting between the two presidents since Ali Bongo came to power in 2009. However, it is not the first time the two have spoken.<\/p>\n<p>Last April, Obama telephoned the Gabonese head of state of to discuss the situation in C\u00f4te d&#8217;Ivoire.
