\"\"<\/a>Cable News Network (CNN) and Nokia have announced a multi-level international collaboration where Nokia becomes a key part of CNN\u2019s roster of mapping providers, delivering its rich mapping services to the international news network.<\/p>\n

According to a press release announcing this, the collaboration will harness the media company\u2019s strengths in global newsgathering, user-generated content, mapping technologies, and location-based services and debuted with the use of Nokia\u2019s 3D Maps across CNN\u2019s platforms in its recent coverage of the British royal wedding.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis collaboration is a great fit for us as both companies share a similar philosophy on connecting people beyond borders through the combination of compelling news content and highly sophisticated technology,\u201d said Tony Maddox,\u00a0Managing Director, CNN International, adding, \u201cThe international scale of each of our businesses makes the scope of the collaboration particularly exciting.\u201d<\/p>\n

On his part, Jerri DeVard, Chief Marketing Officer, Nokia, said \u201cNokia and CNN share the belief that news is now mobile, powerfully democratic, and can immediately be shared by people around the world.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are pleased that CNN wants to use Nokia\u2019s innovative mapping services for its international news platforms, and we are excited to work with CNN to deliver a compelling news service to users of Nokia phones,\u201d Jerri DeVard stated further.<\/p>\n

The release informed that the collaboration also includes the CNN Application for Nokia which provides mobile access to CNN\u2019s world, business, sport, entertainment and technology reporting, as well as live streaming video.\u00a0 The application, it said, in addition allows users to share CNN\u2019s news via their own social channels, and participate in the reporting process with direct access to CNN\u2019s participatory news community, iReport.<\/p>\n

The CNN App for Nokia can be procured from any Ovi Store. Nokia is integrating its devices with innovative services through Ovi (www.ovi.com), including music, maps, apps, email and more.<\/p>\n

CNN on the other hand, is the world\u2019s leading global 24-hour news network, celebrating more than 30 years at the forefront of delivering fast, accurate, impartial news to a global audience of more than 260 million households with its global team of 4,000 news professionals based across 45 bureaux worldwide.<\/p>\n
