Lagos –\u00a0 A hungry student, (names withheld), was docked on Monday at the Ilupeju-Oshodi Magistrates\u2019 Court for stealing food stuff worth N500.<\/p>\n

The\u00a021-year old,\u00a0is standing trial on a two-count charge of felony and stealing.<\/p>\n

The prosecutor, Sgt. Festus Oseghale, told the court that the accused committed the offence on Jan. 31 at about 1 a.m at\u00a0Ilupeju, Lagos.<\/p>\n

Oseghale said that the accused entered the residence of one Mr Yanju Lipede and stole the food items.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe defendant stole a sachet of noodle, two eggs, one bottle of fruit juice and groundnut oil, all valued at N500,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

He said\u00a0 the offence contravened Sections 412 and 390 (4B) Cap c17 of the Criminal Code, Laws of Lagos State.<\/p>\n

The accused pleaded not guilty to the charges.<\/p>\n

The Magistrate, Mrs O.M. Ajayi,\u00a0 granted him bail in the sum of N10,000 with one surety in like sum.<\/p>\n

The case was adjourned till June 22 for further hearing. (NAN)<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
