{"id":437099,"date":"2011-06-06T23:10:47","date_gmt":"2011-06-06T23:10:47","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.ghanamma.net\/2011\/06\/06\/urhobo-pdp-leaders-order-upf-ucf-to-cease-hostilities\/"},"modified":"2011-06-06T23:10:47","modified_gmt":"2011-06-06T23:10:47","slug":"urhobo-pdp-leaders-order-upf-ucf-to-cease-hostilities","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2011\/06\/06\/urhobo-pdp-leaders-order-upf-ucf-to-cease-hostilities\/","title":{"rendered":"Urhobo PDP leaders order UPF, UCF to cease hostilities"},"content":{"rendered":"<div readability=\"89\">\n<p><strong>\u00a0By Emma Amaize<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>WARRI-LEADERS of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Delta Central Senatorial District, Delta State, resolved at a meeting,\u00a0 weekend, in Warri, that the two warring political groups in the area,\u00a0 Urhobo Political Forum, UPF, led by the party\u2019s senatorial candidate in the last elections, Chief Ighoyota Amori and Urhobo Consultative Forum, UCF, headed by a former commissioner, Chief Tom Amioku, should, henceforth,\u00a0 collapse their separate structures and work together for the progress of the\u00a0 party in the senatorial district.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The meeting, presided over by the Deputy Governor, Prof. Amos Utuama, SAN, was convened to review the performance of the party in the district in the last general elections and chart a way forward, particularly for future elections.<\/p>\n<p>A source who attended the meeting told Vanguard that two committees were put in place, one, to reconcile the two\u00a0 groups and the other to recommend ways of advancing the fortunes of the party in the next elections, given the fact that Chief Great Ogboru\u2019s Democratic People Party, DPP, had practically taken over political power in Urhoboland.<\/p>\n<p>Among those who attended the meeting were\u00a0 Chief Amori, who was recently appointed a Senior Political Adviser to the Governor; Chief Amioku, Director-General of the PDP Campaign Council, Delta State and erstwhile Commissioner for Communication and Orientation; Chief Paulinus Akpeki; former Commissioner for Information, Mr. Oma Djebah; former Commissioner and Special Adviser to the Governor on Asaba Airport, Mr Austin Ayemidejor, President of the Urhobo National Youth Council and former Senior Special Adviser on Security to the Governor, Mr. Henry Baro; PDP publicity scribe in Delta Central, Mr Jaro Egbo and a host of others.<\/p>\n<p>Egbo told Vanguard, yesterday, that the meeting was on how to strengthen PDP in the senatorial district.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>Comments are moderated.
