Lagos –\u00a0 Pastor Enoch Adeboye, the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG),\u00a0 on Sunday advised film actors and actresses to seek supernatural support to enable them to excel.<\/p>\n

Adeboye gave the advice in Lagos in his sermon titled \u201cSuccess in Life Requires Something Supernatural\u201d at a special thanksgiving service organised by the church for workers of the entertainment industry.<\/p>\n

He said that although talent and hard work might help and open doors, the two attributes were not enough to make one to excel in life.<\/p>\n

He said that if talent and hard work alone could make one to succeed, many people would not have died without making any headway in life.<\/p>\n

Adeboye stressed that it was only through God\u2019s mercy that people could actualise their dreams.<\/p>\n

He said that although Moses and Joseph in the Bible were talented, they could have died uncelebrated in the desert and the prison if not for divine intervention.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere are many of us here today that are highly skilled, talented and hardworking people; nobody knows you but God will remember you today.<\/p>\n

\u201cI believe that today will mark the beginning of your promotion,\u2019\u2019 he said, adding: \u201cYou need something extra, something supernatural for you to make it in life.\u2019\u2019<\/p>\n

Adeboye said that the need for supernatural assistance had propelled many people to seek help from Satan.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe only problem with going to the devil for assistance is that the sorrow of those who go to the devil for help will be multiplied,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

The cleric said that the devil could make a person popular but the person had to pay a great price for it.<\/p>\n

\u201cBut when you turn to God, His blessings will not make you sorrowful, \u2018\u2019 he said, stressing that God\u2019s promotion was always enduring and enjoyable.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou can serve God today or you can serve the devil and the idols of your fathers\u2019 house.<\/p>\n

\u201cBut charms and the devil will fail you; they will fail you when it is most critical,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Speaking after the service, one of the actors, Evangelist Mike Bamiloye, said that workers of the entertainment industry were created by God for a divine purpose.<\/p>\n

He said that Nollywood was an avenue through which God had given Nigeria a great image.<\/p>\n

Bamiloye urged workers of the entertainment industry to use their talents to serve God, saying that such service would renew their covenant with God and bring them God\u2019s blessings.<\/p>\n

Another film star, Mr Jide Kosoko, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) that the church service was held in recognition of the good works of Nollywood.<\/p>\n

He said that the honour accorded them by Adeboye by bringing them together for the church service would challenge them to strive and work harder to the glory of God.<\/p>\n

Some of Nollywood who attended the service include Mike Bamiloye of Mount Zion Film Ministry, Justus Esiri, Segun Arinze, Wale Adenuga and Segun Adeniyi of the RCCG Drama House. (NAN)<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
