Asmara \u2014 The newly constructed VIP Lounge in Asmara Stadium was inaugurated today in the presence of ministers, senior sports officials of both Eritrea and Qatar, as well as invited guests.<\/p>\n

Speaking on the occasion, the Eritrean Sports Commissioner, Maj.General Romodan Osman Awuliyay, expressed appreciation to the Qatari Olympic Committee for its support in the finalization of the project. He further explained that the gesture of partnership would further enhance Eritrean-Qatari ties.<\/p>\n

Similarly, the Secretary General of the Qatar Olympic Committee, Sheik Seud Bin Abdurahman Al-Thani, noted the benefits of close cooperation between the two countries, as partly exemplified in the realization of such a project. He also stated that cooperation of this kind would continue in the future.<\/p>\n

It is to be noted that renovation programs were underway at Asmara Stadium since 2009 in line with a sports agreement concluded between Eritrea and Qatar. Besides, a modern Guest Hall has been constructed along the main gate of the stadium. The task was accomplished by Segen Construction Company.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, soccer match was conducted between the Eritrean Red Sea team and the Qatari Ajeesh counterpart that was transmitted live via ERI-TV.<\/p>\n
