{"id":434654,"date":"2011-06-02T10:48:28","date_gmt":"2011-06-02T10:48:28","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.ghanamma.net\/2011\/06\/02\/berner-medical-donates-to-rvth\/"},"modified":"2011-06-02T10:48:28","modified_gmt":"2011-06-02T10:48:28","slug":"berner-medical-donates-to-rvth","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2011\/06\/02\/berner-medical-donates-to-rvth\/","title":{"rendered":"Berner Medical Donates to RVTH"},"content":{"rendered":"<div readability=\"39.3370967742\">\n<hr class=\"thin clear\" \/>\n<hr class=\"thin clear\" \/>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.observer.gm\/enews\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">The Daily Observer<\/a> (Banjul)<\/p>\n<p>Amadou Jallow<\/p>\n<p>1 June 2011<\/p>\n<hr class=\"thin clear\" \/>\n<p>Berner Medical, a Sweden-based company Tuesday donated medical items to the Royal Victoria Teaching Hospital (RVTH) at a presentation ceremony held at the hospital grounds in Banjul.<\/p>\n<p>The donation was made through Dr. Pa Baboucarr Foon, a medical doctor and specialist in obstetrics, gynaecology and general medicine based in Karlstad, Sweden.The donated items include two cartons of surgical masks, 35 cartons of surgical gowns and 54 cartons of surgical gloves.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking at the presentation ceremony, Fatou Barry-Faye, a representative of the donors, explained that the items are purposely meant for the Women&#8217;s Wing of the RVTH. She expressed the donor&#8217;s strong commitment in providing such support to the government.<\/p>\n<p>Barry-Faye told the gathering that Berner Medical seeks to fulfil its cooperate social responsibility of giving back to the people and nations to whom quality healthcare remain a priority. She advised the beneficiaries to properly utilise the materials and assured the management of the RVTH of Dr. Foon and Berner Medical&#8217;s commitment to supporting the health sector.<\/p>\n<p>The public relations officer (PRO) of RVTH, Baboucarr Ngum expressed gratitude for the gesture, saying that medical drugs and masks are essential products in hospital operations. He commended the donors, adding that this is what is expected from any genuine citizen.<\/p>\n<p>Fatou Ceesay-Nyabally, chairperson of the RVTH Donation Committee and Tumani A Janneh, the deputy chief matron of the RVTH, both described the donation as a welcome move. They noted that surgical gloves and masks are protection tools that help in hospital operation.
