Khartoum \u2014 Adviser of the Governor of Khartoum State, Dr. Mohammed Ali, affirmed the important role being played by private sector in boosting economic and commercial cooperation between Sudan and the Islamic Republic of Iran as well as realization of common interests. This came when he addressed Wednesday the joint meeting of the Sudanese-Iranian Businessmen held in Burjal-Fatih Hotel in Khartoum.<\/p>\n

The Iranian delegation was headed by Secretary General of the Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Mining, Al-Sayed MesadegiDr. Ali explained that the visit of the Iranian delegation is a fresh push to the bilateral economic relations, urging the Iranian Private Sector to benefit from Sudan’s huge economic potentialities in order to realize the common interest, commending the role played by the Iranian Embassy and the Council of the Sudanese-Iranian Businessmen with respect to boosting of the economic cooperation.<\/p>\n

The Commissioner of the Development of the Iranian Industries in the Ministry of Foreign Trade of Iran affirmed his support to all the recommendations to be put forward by the meeting, saying that establishing an Iranian trade centre in Khartoum would be a quality shift in developing the bilateral relations, explaining that Sudan is very important to the foreign trade policy of his countryHe explained that the volume of commercial exchange between Sudan and Iran reached about 60 million US dollars in 2010, which is below the ambitions compared to the development of the political relations.<\/p>\n

Deputy Chairman of the Federation of the Sudanese Businessmen and Employers and Chairman of the Sudanese side in the joint Council of the Sudanese-Iranian Businessmen, Hashim Hago, called for overcoming obstacles facing boosting of economic cooperation and increasing the commercial exchange, affirming keenness of the Sudanese private sector to boost these relations for the benefit of the peoples of the two countriesHe further commended the tendency to establish an Iranian Trade Centre in Khartoum, calling for benefiting from the Iranian experience in boosting cooperation in domains of agriculture in Sudan. Ambassador of the Islamic of Iran to Sudan, Javad Turkabadi, for his part, commended the redevelopment of the political relations as well as coordination in the International forums between Sudan and Iran, affirming readiness to assist Sudan in making use of the Iranian experience in aspects of infrastructure, technology, scientific research, calling for empowering the private Sector in the two countries in order to make the desired quality shift in the economic bilateral relations.<\/p>\n
