\"LadiThe Convention People\u2019s Party CPP wishes to inform the rank and file of the party, the general public and stakeholders in Ghana\u2019s democratic dispensation that, a so called group ; Sankofa Convention People\u2019s Movement, which claims to be affiliated to the CPP is NOT KNOWN to the party and therefore constitutes an illegality as far as CPP is concerned.<\/p>\n

To that end, the CPP condemns in strongest terms, a statement issued by Sankofa, and circulated in the media on Monday, May 30, 2011. The said statement is misleading, mischievous and calculated by the failed fifth columnist group to derail the party\u2019s efforts towards rescuing Ghana from the two decades of bad governance unleashed unto the good people of Ghana by the NDC and NPP.<\/p>\n

We wish to assure party members currently in the field implementing our come back strategy to win the 2012 elections to remain focused on the task ahead. The CPP has a most enviable record of accelerated development, which the people of Ghana need.<\/p>\n

Our vision \u201cto build a strong and progressive society in which no one will have any anxiety about the basic means of life, about work, food and shelter\u2019 where poverty and illiteracy no longer exist and disease is brought under control, and where educational facilities provide all the children of Ghana with the best possible opportunities for the development of their potentialities\u201d remains key on our agenda towards elections 2012.<\/p>\n

We wish to make it clear, that any group wishing to associate with the CPP must necessarily share our vision. There is therefore no room for groups like Sankofa in the CPP. The CPP is ready to run its own race to win the 2012 general elections.<\/p>\n

The work of the CPP Shadow Cabinet as a government in waiting is known to all. CPP Shadow Cabinet will continue to organise opposition to government policies that do not serve the larger interest of the good people of Ghana. We will check the excesses and abuse of political and administrative authority, and above all, we will continue to provide alternative policy visions, based on the party\u2019s home grown ideology of Nkrumahism, namely: Self -Determination, Social Justice and Pan Africanism.<\/p>\n
