{"id":434417,"date":"2011-06-02T02:50:27","date_gmt":"2011-06-02T02:50:27","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.ghanamma.net\/2011\/06\/02\/policemen-gets-10-days-for-using-mugabes-toilet\/"},"modified":"2011-06-02T02:50:27","modified_gmt":"2011-06-02T02:50:27","slug":"policemen-gets-10-days-for-using-mugabes-toilet","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2011\/06\/02\/policemen-gets-10-days-for-using-mugabes-toilet\/","title":{"rendered":"Policemen Gets 10 Days for Using Mugabe&#8217;s Toilet"},"content":{"rendered":"<div readability=\"22.2874522072\">\n<hr class=\"thin clear\" \/>\n<hr class=\"thin clear\" \/>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.nation.co.ke\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/allafrica.com\/img\/static\/publishers\/minibanners\/nation180.jpg\" alt=\"The Nation (Nairobi)\" title=\"Visit The Nation (Nairobi)\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Kitsepile Nyathi<\/p>\n<p>1 June 2011<\/p>\n<hr class=\"thin clear\" \/>\n<p>Nairobi \u2014 A Zimbabwean police officer accused of using a toilet reserved for President Robert Mugabe has been jailed for 10 days.<\/p>\n<p>The policeman identified as Sergeant Alois Mabhunu by a local radio station was tried and convicted by a police internal court on Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p>He was arrested last month for using the toilet that had been specifically designated for the president during the Zimbabwe International Trade Fair (ZITF) held in the second city of Bulawayo early May.<\/p>\n<p>Allegations against Sgt Mabhunu were that on May 6 he was on duty at the ZITF where President Mugabe was a guest.<\/p>\n<p>He allegedly rushed to the toilet to answer the call of nature at a toilet reserved for the 87 year old leader.<\/p>\n<p>Some officers guarding the toilet tried to stop him but failed.
