Chipolopolo coach Dario Bonetti has lashed out at striker Given Singuluma’s Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) side TP Mazembe, saying the club acted unprofessionally by failing to send the player for specialist treatment from the time he suffered a thigh muscle injury.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile midfielder Isaac Chansa of South Africa Premiership side, Orlando Pirates has beefed up the Zambia soccer team in Kitwe ahead of Saturday’s Orange 2012 Gabon\/Equatorial Guinea Africa Cup Group C qualifying match against Mozambique at Nchanga Stadium in Chingola.<\/p>\n

Bonetti said it was unfortunate that with all their money, TP Mazembe had failed to send Singuluma for specialist treatment, thus the Chipolopolo technical staff deciding to send him to the American hospital for a scan.<\/p>\n

“With the injury, they left the player alone and I am very sorry that it happened this way because Given is a very important player for both TP Mazembe and the Zambia national team,” Bonetti said.<\/p>\n

He said apart from the injuries, the team was doing well in training tactically and technically and reiterated the need for the players to continue working hard in their quest to make an appearance at the Africa Cup.<\/p>\n

And Chansa’s arrival brings the number of players in camp at Moba Hotel in Kitwe to 26 and completes the list of foreign-based players that Bonetti had summoned for the must-win encounter.<\/p>\n

Team manager, Lusekelo Kamwambi confirmed Chansa’s arrival in an interview yesterday, saying the on-song midfield ace, who has just assisted Pirates win the South Africa league and Nedbank Cup titles, joined camp on Monday evening.<\/p>\n

Kamwambi ruled out the possibility of defender Davies Nkausu of South Africa Premiership side, Supersport United joining the team as he was reportedly down with a bout of malaria.<\/p>\n

Battling for fitness with Singuluma, who was by Press time still at the American Hospital in Lusaka for a scan on his thigh, is Swiss-based striker Emmanuel Mayuka and central defender Chintu Kampamba.<\/p>\n

Mayuka, of Young Boys and scorer of the second goal in the 2-0 over Mozambique in March, is recovering from an ankle injury, while Kampamba of South Africa premiership outfit BIDVest Wits has a calf injury.<\/p>\n

The team had an afternoon training session yesterday at Arthur Davies Stadium in Kitwe.<\/p>\n

The players in camp are goalkeepers, Kennedy Mweene (Free State Stars, South Africa), Kalililo Kakonje (TP Mazembe, DRC) and Jacob Banda (Zesco United).<\/p>\n

Defenders<\/strong>: Hichani Himoonde, Emmanuel Mbola (both TP Mazembe, DRC), Kampamba Chintu (BIDVest Wits University, South Africa), Joseph Musonda (Lamontville Golden Arrows, South Africa), Francis Kasonde (Al Hazm, Saudi Arabia), Nyambe Mulenga (Zesco United), Dennis Banda (Green Buffaloes) and Thomas Nyirenda (Konkola Blades).<\/p>\n

Midfielders:<\/strong> Stopilla Sunzu, Rainford Kalaba (both TP Mazembe, DRC), Clifford Mulenga (Bloemfontein Celtic, South Africa), William Njobvu (Iron Kiryat Shmona, Israel) and Justin Zulu (Hapoel Rishon LeZion, Israel).<\/p>\n

Others are Christopher Katongo (Skoda Xanthi, Greece), Felix Katongo (Al Ittihad, Libya), Isaac Chansa (Orlando Pirates, South Africa), Allan Mukuka (Green Buffaloes), Kennedy Mudenda and Lottie Phiri (both Power Dynamos).<\/p>\n

Strikers:<\/strong> Collins Mbesuma (Lamontville Golden Arrows, South Africa), Emmanuel Mayuka (Young Boys, Switzerland), Rodger Kola (Hapoel Rishon LeZion, Israel) and Adubelo Phiri (Red Arrows).<\/p>\n
