President John Atta Mills has inaugurated a two-storey dormitory for the Begoro Presbyterian Senior High School and said the \u201cBetter Ghana Agenda\u201d was meant to provide infrastructure for the people of Ghana.<\/p>\n
He said the government would not relent in its efforts in making sure that the people in the area and students had their fair share of the \u201cBetter Ghana Agenda\u201d cake.<\/p>\n
The inauguration of the facility formed part of the President\u2019s three-day working visit to the Eastern Region.<\/p>\n
Mr Samuel Ofosu Ampofo, the Minister of Local Government and Rural Development, said the government was utilizing the nation\u2019s resources appropriately, hence the establishment of many developmental facilities in just two-and-a-half years in office.<\/p>\n
Mr Oko Charway, the Headmaster of the school, said the facility, in addition to another 20-unit uncompleted girls\u2019 dormitory, had enhanced the school\u2019s population to 2,230, out of which 1,750 are in the boarding house.<\/p>\n
He also thanked the government for giving the school a six-unit classroom block that had enhanced teaching and learning.<\/p>\n
He appealed to the government to build a dinning hall, staff bungalows and additional classroom blocks for the school.<\/p>\n
Omanhene of Begoro, Daasebre Awuah Kotoko II, appealed to the government to solve the water problem in the town including stand pipes and mechanized boreholes that would ensure a 24-hour water supply for the Begoro Township.<\/p>\n
He also appealed to the government to provide at least a school bus for Nsutam Senior High School since its student population was increasing and to also fix the road from Osiem to Begoro.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
